Summary: The article presents the results of the study of design features of harvesters` shredding machines used on farms in Ukraine. It has been established that most highly efficient harvesters, more than 75% use a drum shredder, which is closed and open, two-section with a V-shaped arrangement of knives. The design of disk, rotor and combined shredders has been analyzed. Their design features, advantages and disadvantages in work have been mentioned. It has been discovered that the energy consumption of the technological process of grinding-transporting the mass is reduced, and the reliability of the apparatus is increased by using bitumen-knife grinders, which perform multi-plane cutting at the speed of 4-8 m/s. The main parameters of the working bodies are systematized and the technical characteristics of the roll and pack balers that contain the shredding machine of multiplanar cutting.
