Summary: Considering the sown areas and yields of spring barley out of many cereal crops in Ukraine as well as in the area of world agriculture it takes one of the priority places. In general, the sown area of spring barley in the world is about 75 million hectares. In Ukraine it is sown on an area of about 3-5 million hectares. Barley grain is in great demand, it is widely used as a fodder and for food purposes, in addition it is used for the brewing industry as an indispensable raw material.
